Aside from the overt commercialism, his advice is very good, and addresses some topics that I have not seen in many other oil painting books - the importance of controlling edges, making your darks really dark to achieve strong contrast (imagine chiaroscuro meets Monet)- I think these are the things that truly make a exciting painting.

Nonetheless, I believe you have to be an intermediate to advanced artist to get the most out of this instruction book. There are a number of demonstrations, but they are rather high-level. For you to even think for a second I would allow someone to promote my book and then pay me back for its use to help my company is an insult. Not everyone is so dis-genuine and thinks like you. I do not promote trinket shit on the Internet. Some of us want to help people. That’s what I think.”

There is nothing wrong with making a profit, but you have totally insulted me, this is the reason I will not ever do business with you.
